Nous sommes heureux de vous adresser ici le témoignage d’un prêtre homme de science, ami du Père Teilhard de Chardin, le Père Bergounioux, ofm (1900-1983). C’est un autre Père franciscain, le Père R. Stephen Almagno, qui nous a rappelé ce témoignage, prononcé à l’occasion d’une messe de Requiem pour le repos de l’âme de Teilhard, chantée en 1956 durant un Congrès de Paléontologie à Sabadell (Catalogne). Nous remercions vivement le Père Almagno, qui vivait jusqu’à tout récemment à un quart d’heure de la tombe de Teilhard à Poughkeepsie dans l’Etat de New York, sur laquelle il se recueillait régulièrement, et qui s’est chargé de la traduction de ce texte en anglais.

We are happy to send you here the testimony of a priest and scientist, a friend of Father Teilhard de Chardin, Father Bergounioux, ofm (1900-1983). It is another Franciscan Father, Fr. R. Stephen Almagno, who reminded us of this testimony, pronounced on the occasion of a Requiem Mass for the repose of Teilhard’s soul, sung in 1956 during a Congress of Paleontology in Sabadell (Catalonia). We are very grateful to Father Almagno, who lived until recently at a quarter of an hour from Teilhard’s tomb in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he regularly recollected himself, and who took care of the translation of this text into English.

Nos complace enviarles aquí el testimonio de un sacerdote y científico, amigo del padre Teilhard de Chardin, el padre Bergounioux, ofm (1900-1983). Es otro padre franciscano, el P. R. Stephen Almagno, quien nos ha recordado este testimonio, dado con motivo de una misa de réquiem por el descanso del alma de Teilhard, cantada en 1956 durante un Congreso de Paleontología en Sabadell (Cataluña). Estamos muy agradecidos al padre Almagno, que hasta hace poco vivía a un cuarto de hora de la tumba de Teilhard en Poughkeepsie, Nueva York, donde meditaba regularmente, y que ha traducido este texto al inglés.
