Jacques ARNOULD will enlighten us on the stakes for humanity of the renewal of the conquest of the cosmos. Title of his lecture:What are we looking for in the stars ? 50 years after the first steps on the moon

” A small step for man, a giant leap for mankind “, these were the first words of Neil Armstrong when he set foot on our satellite. Since July 21, 1969, humanity has made a leap in the knowledge of the cosmosThese discoveries about the structure of the cosmos raise new philosophical and spiritual questions about the meaning of the conquest of space: existence of extraterrestrial life, possibility of parallel worlds, finitude of the universe. Does the renewal of the space conquest aim to help us answer these questions or does it correspond to the anticipation of an escape from our sick Earth ?
